A day in the life of a Buyer
You will be responsible for negotiating prices with suppliers, processing and tracking purchase orders, creating and maintaining the inventory, liaising the quality assurance with suppliers, aligning the production and the assembling teams with management. You will work with staff across departments to plan and forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand. A normal day in your new role…
Research, select and purchase quality products and materials
Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate for best pricing
Travel extensively in Switzerland and Europe
Understand and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications
Follow-up the production schedule and edit work orders accordingly
Update inventory and ensure stock is kept at appropriate levels
Arrange transport of goods and tracks orders to ensure timely delivery
Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions
Continuously improve supplier performance in areas of quality, delivery, paperwork accuracy
Follow-up the shipment schedule established with customers
What will make you successful
Your previous roles has prepared you for this new challenge and you have 2 years of experience in a position of Buyer. You are an ambitious self-starter and you are able to work autonomously while building strong internal relationships.
You have BSc/BA in business administration or in relevant field. You read and understand engineering drawings and Blueprint. Your qualities are seen, heard and observed every day through your words, actions and behaviors. You maintain high-quality standards but can find a balance between quality, flexibility, and timely delivery. Your communication skills is clear and concise. Are you passionate about your job?
